Before attempting to schedule your Road Test with KSP, you must first select a Target Date with Life Saver Driving Academy.
Road Test Scheduling with Kentucky State Police (KSP)
The Road Test is administered by the Kentucky State Police (KSP) on weekdays between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with a midday lunch break.

Important: KSP appointments are limited and fill quickly. New time slots are typically released each weekday at 8:00 AM, with occasional updates around 3:30 PM. Only a few days are visible at a time, and appointments often book out 2–3 weeks in advance.
Step 1: Choose a Target Date with Us Before Booking KSP
You may choose your Target Date at any time, as long as it falls after your final scheduled driving lesson.
This reserves your time slot with us and allows you to be ready to book a matching appointment with KSP the moment availability opens.
Go to Account > Appointments on our website and follow the instructions to book your KSP Target Date with us.
How it works:
- Choose a Target Date that fits your schedule and follows the timing guidelines below.
- Monitor the KSP website closely (especially around 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM) for newly released slots.
- Book a KSP appointment on the same date as your Target Date with us, and within the time frame that works for both.
If you’re unable to find a matching time through KSP for your selected Target Date, do not book with KSP yet.
Instead, email us at contact@lifesaverdrivingacademy.com and we’ll help you choose a new Target Date.
Timing Requirements When Using Our Vehicle
If you plan to use a Life Saver Driving Academy vehicle for your KSP Road Test:
- Your KSP appointment must fall within your Life Saver time slot.
- It should begin at least 30 minutes after your Life Saver slot starts, to allow time for warm-up and travel.
- It should also start no later than about 15 minutes before the end of your Life Saver slot, as most tests take around 15 minutes.
Example:
If you book 8:00–9:30 AM with us, your KSP Road Test should be scheduled between 8:30 AM and 9:15 AM.
This gives you time for warm-up and travel to the test.

Your KSP test should start 30 minutes into your Life Saver slot and no later than 15 minutes before it ends.
After Booking Your KSP Appointment
Once you’ve successfully booked your KSP appointment and it aligns with your Life Saver Target Date,
please email a copy of your KSP confirmation to contact@lifesaverdrivingacademy.com so we can verify that both appointments are aligned and confirm your time on our schedule.
